The Tamworth under 18 girls played a tough match in harsh conditions on Sunday 5th January, against a strong Mansfield side in order to top the National cup pool and progress to the next stage of the tournament. The wind bit at the skin and the ground was dusted with snow but the Tamworth girls powered through to come away with a winning score of 22-5.
Two tries came from the Tamworth girls in the first half, one from Millie and another from Lucie, one of which was converted by Izzy. Mansfield also scored their singular try within this half. The intensity of the second half remained the same but Tamworth were more successful and managed to dot down another two tries and pull away from their opposition.
Dames of the game were Millie for the forwards and Lillie for the backs, as Millie produced powerful running lines and Lillie showed strength in all of her tackles.
