On Sunday 15th December the Tamworth under 18 girls travelled to the Melbourne grounds to take on both Stafford and MAC (Melbourne, Ashby, Coalville, and Leek/Longton), in two separate mini games. The pitches were muddy and the wind was active but the conditions didn’t deter Tamworth from a successful day with two impressive wins and zero points conceded.
Tamworth’s first game was against MAC, Tamworth girls banded together to put 25 points on the board: tries from Ellie (2), Grace, and Lexie (2).
The second game against Stafford was a tougher test but Tamworth girls still came away with a 29-0 win. The hands remained slick and the support lines ever-present to allow for five tries and two conversions from Eva. Try scorers were Poppy, Lucie (2), Lexie, and Grace.
Dame of the game for the forwards was Nell as on her Tamworth debut she made an admirable impact on the match and slotted right into the girls’ style of play. Poppy and Lillie were awarded the same award for the backs as they played well for both Tamworth and the opposition when players were needed to be tended - fantastic TREDS.
Overall a great afternoon for r the Tamworth under 18 girls as they all had great moments. It was a brilliant way to end the last matches of 2024.
