This Sunday the Tamworth girls traveled to Telford for a friendly match. Telford were short on numbers so the game was split into 4 x 15 minute games with Tamworth lending 2 players for each game - thanks to Josie Brown, Emma March, Heather Whitehouse, Aimee Tudor, Alissa Clarke, Abileigh Priestnall, Lily Giles and Daisy Vernon for pulling on a yellow shirt to make up the numbers.
Tamworth opened up the scoring in the first minute with a try from Priestnall, Telford evened up but new player Ellie Smith had a great run and scored for Tamworth, Telford fought back to even up yet again and then added a conversion to pull into the lead.
Tamworth then stormed ahead with tries from Charlotte O'Neill, Abbey Tomlinson and Daisie Smith with conversions from Priestnall and Jess Rowland. Telford got one more over the try line before Katie Simpson weaved through the opposition to score again. Tamworth were looking strong with a score of 36 -19 but Telford managed to break through with enough strength to overpower Tamworth and their last try and conversion before the whistle took them into the lead.
