As we enter the part of the season which introduces player pathway/development playing opportunities TRUFC u18 girls squad are celebrating and delighted to announce:
FOUR Tamworth RUFC girls selected to participate in the RFU Player Development Group (PDG [replaces CoE]) program, spread over 9 centres nationally. Izzy is attending the Staffs/Lancs/Cheshire centre, Martha is attending the North Mids/Gloucs/Warks centre whilst Grace and Ayala are attending the Leics/NLD/East Mid centre.
A series of trails earlier in the season resulted in selection into the pathway, playing opportunities vs other PDG centres commence this Saturday (23 November) followed by two additional playing opportunities during February. The girls are attending regular squad training sessions at their respective PDG centre.
SIXTEEN Tamworth RUFC girls have been selected to participate in County (CB) squads. TRUFC players will be representing three different CB's Staffordshire, Leicestershire and North Midlands.
Trials were held end of October and the girls have attended squad training during November. County playing opportunities commence next Sunday (1 December) followed by two additional playing opportunities (one January, one February).
Tamworth u18's girls have made a fantastic start to the 2024/25 season and their efforts have been recognised and rewarded with these inclusions into representative squads.
